Havana Roasters Coffee Certifies Vegan with BeVeg International
The only vegan symbol backed by a global law firm to standardize worldwide veg claims.
Miami, FL (Sept. 5th, 2019) – Miami’s Little Havana’s Cuban-style coffee, Havana Roasters, is making a BIG difference as a socially conscious coffee company. Havana Roasters coffee now joins the ranks of many other delicious, socially conscious companies that wish to get credit for being vegan across the globe. Havana Roasters stands out as being the first coffee company to certify vegan with BeVeg.
After an extensive review of its production and growing practices, Havana Roasters passed the strict BeVeg vegan certification process for its beans grown in Africa and Central America. You may ask, how can coffee not be vegan? At BeVeg we only certify coffee vegan if it is socially conscious in its growing practices. That means, trees are not cut down to harvest coffee beans, which would in turn harm the animal habitat.
Havana Roasters beans are grown in the shade co-existing with trees. Coffee beans grown in the sun, however, have been verified to be harvested in open fields that were not cleared for the purpose of growing beans. Havana Roasters has also committed to fighting deforestation by donating monthly to “One Tree Planted,” a non-profit organization that plants trees in the Amazon.
Currently, Havana Roasters Coffee is sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, Fairway Markets, Amazon, Home Depot, Office Depot, among other distinguished restaurant and hotel locations.
According to Carissa Kranz, founder and CEO of BeVeg International, Havana Roasters will be placing the BeVeg vegan symbol on all products that do not contain dairy since the vegan claim has more to do with the beans, and the story behind the beans. The BeVeg vegan logo tells vegans and others who care about sustainability and social responsibility that any product that carries its vegan trademark meets the the BeVeg vegan standard.
Around the world, conscious companies are embracing higher standards of production practices and are seeking independent verification from BeVeg International, the only law firm in the world to certify vegan and issue a trademark vegan logo.
BeVeg is the only law firm in the world that specializes in vegan certification, regulation, and advocacy. The firm exists to raise the standard for consumer transparency by requiring companies who apply to disclose all ingredients and processes to packaging. Kranz states, “it’s about being forthcoming with information.” BeVeg demands honest information. Attorneys license use of the BeVeg vegan logo to conscious companies in alignment with the BeVeg vegan standard.
BeVeg is considered the gold standard for vegan certification as featured or mentioned in Forbes, CBS, NBC, PETA, Social Life Hamptons Magazine, Veg World Magazine, Vegetarisimo Magazine, VRG, LiveKindly Magazine, Metropolitan Magazine, California Wine Advisor, Yahoo Finance, among others, and used and endorsed by celebrity supermodel, Christie Brinkley.
No other vegan certification symbol is managed by a law firm. BeVeg is the standard for vegan claims, and is part of the overall BeVeg mission to standardize Be Veg claims worldwide
